    Ambassador of the Republic of Poland Maciej Lang hold a meeting with the members of the Turkish and Polish delegation comprised of Associate Professor Şengül Aydıngün, Blazej Stanislawski (Ph.D) and Haldun Aydıngün (Ph.D); who has been carrying an archaeological research on the western coast of Küçükçekmece Lake at the Firuzköy Peninsula.

    The project that has been conducted jointly by Kocaeli University, Wrocław Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Wrocław University Institute of Classical, Mediterranean and Oriental Studies, will contribute to the discovery of the cultural environment in which the societies coming from the Northern Europe had their first direct interaction with the Byzantium Civilization. Thanks to this project, ‘byzantianization’ process of the societies coming from North can be researched.

     

    Embassy of the Republic of Poland supports any sucessful cooperation between Poland and Turkey, particularly when such joint projects allow for crucial discoveries in the field of world cultural heritage.
